Not really, but my family is looking at me like I’m nuts because that’s the basic reaction I had about the package that was delivered here, this afternoon. Do you all remember Steve Martin in “The Jerk”, leaping in the air and running in the street with excitement over the new phone books, or am I totally “dating” myself? -lol- My excitement over the package is half because of what’s in it and half because it arrived so early.
I told you on Facebook, Friday, that I was one of 40 lucky bloggers randomly selected to receive a fabulous cake pop kit from Wilton, so I can participate in their upcoming Wilton Pops in a Post Contest. I received the email on Friday, which said I had won and that the kit would ship on Monday. I was totally psyched and couldn’t wait to receive it! I was already planning my assault on the UPS website tracking system, “Is it here, yet?” “Hello, is it here, yet?” “Oh and I was wondering, is it here, yet?”
Well, Saturday morning, the sun rose and we didn’t. (Sleeping in is a rare treat for my guy who rises at 2 or 4 each morning , depending on whether his shift is an 8 or 10 hour one.) So, we were snug and snoring under a comforter mountain, when right by my bed there arose such a clatter, I opened one eye and said, “Whaaa?” Our youngest was standing there, whispering, “Mom…..mom….mom…..mom….” “Whaaa?”
“The Wilton box just got delivered.”
I sprang from my bed, threw open the door, tripped down the stairs and slid across the floor. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a great cardboard box and “The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!” My “major award” had apparently been overnighted.
It was like Christmas a week early, opening that box. My nine-year-old stood beside me and with each item pulled from the shipping carton, emitted an enraptured, “Aaaaaggghhh! Oooooooooooo! Cooooool!” I have to tell you, I completely agree with her and I can’t wait to get started creating cake pops with these fun products. I’ll do a post later with lots and lots of pictures and instructions and ideas. If I’m lucky enough to be one of the ten finalists selected by Wilton, I’ll be asking you all for a little voting “love” in January, too.
Anyway, I wanted to show you all the great stuff, we were so blessed to receive; so hopefully, someone out there can be excited with me and not look at me like I’m a silly, giddy nut. (Yes, my dear teenagers; that would be you. 🙂 ) But before I show you, maybe you are asking yourself, “What exactly is a cakepop?”
“Lucy, let me ‘splain!”
They are delectable bites of cake, brownie, cookie or rice cereal treats shaped into creative forms and dipped, frosted and/or decorated to be as beautiful to look at as they are delicious to eat. They will be the hit of your next birthday party, wedding or baby shower, Christmas party or any other festive celebration! Fun, yummy goodness on a stick! Now who wouldn’t be excited about that? — lol
Here’s what was in the box:
Thanks for letting me spill excitement and enthusiasm all over your Saturday night! Just wait until I get started actually making them!
Have a blessing-filled weekend!
