Do you all remember when I posted on our Facebook Wall a couple weeks ago about Kraft’s First Taste website? Did you go and sign up? Then go, right now, and don’t waste another minute! 🙂 Not only is it a great way to get news about all the awesome new products Kraft is launching, but you have the opportunity to weigh in with your opinions and be heard. You’ll also find recipes and special offers, like free samples and/or coupons for free products when they are available. They even have opportunities for members to do House Parties and introduce guests to the new products.
I was fortunate enough to participate in Kraft’s “Taste What’s New and Delicious from Kraft Foods” campaign. I received six coupons for FREE full-sized products in the mail! My family and I had great fun taste-testing DiGiornio’s new Deep Dish Pizza, Kool-Aid Fun-Fizz tablets, Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh thin-sliced ham, Kraft 100 Calorie Packs of Cheddar Cheese Cubes, Ritz Crackerfuls Four Cheese Crackers and Kraft’s New Homestyle Macaroni and Cheese. (Actually, the Homestyle Mac and Cheese wasn’t available the day I shopped, so I still have that coupon for another shopping trip, but I did have FREE coupons for the new Kraft Grilled Cheese Explosion Macaroni and Cheese dinners (from a different promotion), and that is what you see in this picture.)
The Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh ham was amazing! We made sub sandwiches at home on Father’s Day and our whole family enjoyed this meat. The packaging is easy to open and close (which means the meat stays fresh). I loved how thin and flavorful the slices were. At my local Wal-Mart, this one pound package was priced only $4.50, which was cheaper than the deli turkey they were offering, plus I didn’t have to stand in line and wait for it to be shaved and packaged. I just pulled it off the shelf and was on to the next item on my list. (As a side note, I recently had the opportunity to print a free coupon for the new Deli-Fresh Turkey Pastrami, which we also gobbled up on Father’s Day. It is probably my husband’s all-time favorite sandwich meat, now.)
The Kool-Aid Fun Fizz is definitely a hit with our eight-year-old daughter and our three- and two-year-old granddaughters. For this particular shopping trip, we picked up the Partying Punch, but all the girls have also tried Grape and Lemonade. The consensus among adults was that the flavors were a little weak, but the kids absolutely loved them and that is all that really matters. To me, the real benefit of this product is that it is a fun and appealing way to get kids to drink more water, which is exactly what they did.
When I read about DiGiornio Deep Dish pizza and even after I received the coupon, I didn’t realize it was a single serving pie, so I was a little surprised when I first saw it in the freezer case. My skepticism continued when I saw that it was “microwave” pizza, but I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. My husband and I shared this yummy treat on one of our date nights, watching a movie. What an unexpectedly flavorful shock! We had the four cheese variety and it was absolutely delicious. I am very picky about pizza sauce — the taste and the quantity — and I loved this pizza. The other thing that surprised and delighted me was that the crust actually browned. It had a soft, wonderful center and lightly browned, yummy outer crust. You wouldn’t have believed it came out of the microwave!
The Kraft 100 Calorie Cheese Cube packs are perfect for quick snacks to pick up and go. I’ve mentioned to you before that one of our daughter’s is insulin resistant and having this pre-measured, handy protein-packed snack ready for her to grab is great! Plus, it just tastes good. It’s the perfect size snack to tide the kids and grandkids over until supper is on the table.
While I was gone for an evening, the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Grilled Cheese Explosion dinners became the “base” for my husband’s dinner prep. He is so great about taking over when I’m gone and cooking for the family. His meals tend to be casseroles and his favorites always start with macaroni and cheese. That’s exactly what happened to the Grilled Cheese Explosion dinners. He prepared them following the directions on the box and added some seasoned ground beef I already had in the fridge. It made a creamy, satisfying meal which was super simple for him to prepare.
Ritz Crackerfuls may actually be my new secret obsession. These whole-grain crackers are absolutely delicious little cracker sandwiches filled with cheese spreads. I bought the Four Cheese variety and enjoyed them plain and also slathered with some of my homemade Hot Pepper Jelly. I can also imagine this four cheese variety spread with a thin layer of pizza sauce, some sliced pepperoni and a little mozzarella cheese, then baked until the cheese is bubbly. What a great snack or party appetizer! Yum!
