Have you ever had the “I’m Moving Again” blues? I have been on an emotional roller-coaster the last couple of months, hitting those “No, it will be exciting and fun to put together a new place.” highs and the “Oh my gosh, if I have to purge another closet or pack another box…” lows. lol I am, basically, resigned to the fact that our house is on the market and when it sells, we DO have to move one more time. I think the thing that frustrates me, though, is that we always seem to repair, remodel and redo all those things we’ve just been living with, until now. Now, I enjoy this house even more, because of all we’ve done. That makes it just that much harder to pack up and move.
I’ll let you in on a little secret, though. I’m not going to let all that go in our new place. I already have a plan in motion! Remember how we changed a nameless, purposeless room into a gorgeous formal dining room with a magnificent Hunter Ceiling Fan as the central inspiration for the room? That room makes me SO happy! Sadly, I can’t take that room with me, BUT…I have one box, packed into the garage with all the others, that I am UBER excited about. Wanna see it?
That one box in the garage is giving me renewed hope that with that goregeous ceiling fan, even a new house will become MY home. I’m feeling like there’s a very good chance that it will be a home that reflects our style and welcomes friends and family with light and freshness. We can do it! We don’t have to wait to sell a home to make it beautiful. And this box, means I can start as soon as we get moved in. The blues are fading, thanks to Hunter.
I discovered two new exciting things about Hunter Fan Company, this week.
- They sell a cool fan accessory called SIMPLEconnect. While I had the momentary urge to set it back with my fan for the new house, instead, I decided to install it in our master bedroom, where we have an older model Hunter ceiling fan already installed. When we bought this house, their was a remote that ran the light kit and fan in there. It hasn’t worked for over a year and it’s on that list of things we’ve just decided to live with. :0 So, instead of packing it away for another day, I pulled my SIMPLEconnect out of the box, last weekend, and with the expert help of my fabulous son-in-law, had it installed in our bedroom ceiling fan in minutes. Sweet success!
- Secondly, the Your Fan Can Facebook Contest is in full swing and you HAVE to go and enter! No, seriously, stop right now and go enter. lol You are going to love SIMPLEconnect and you have a chance to WIN ONE for FREE! And when you’re done, hurry back here, because one lucky Busy-at-Home reader is going to win a SIMPLEconnect, as well! Woot! (Enter with the Rafflecopter form at the end of this post.)
So, what’s the big deal? And, what’s SIMPLEconnect? Let me tell you, it has made using the ceiling fan in my bedroom a breeze, again. Plus, it has added a feature I never even dreamed of. SIMPLEconnect is a receiver that fits inside the housing of any ceiling fan. The receiver allows you to control the fan and any attached light kit, with the included remote. Pretty standard did you say? Well, here’s what sets SIMPLEconnect apart from any other receiver you could install. Included in the package is a Blutooth Controller that can plug into any outlet in the room with your fan. Oh, did I forget to mention that the receiver is Bluetooth compatible? Well, it IS! It’s so cool!
My phone is an Android, so I simply went into the Google Play Store, downloaded the free SIMPLEconnect app and now, I am the master of my ceiling fan!
When I select the app, from my home screen, the first window that opens, shows how many receivers I have synced with my app. I only own one SIMPLEconnect (for the time being), so when I select that controller, a screen with a lightbulb and fan opens up. It’s exactly what you would expect, the bulb turns our lights off and on. The fan image controls the off and on switch for the fan. To the left, when I click “Speed”, I have access to a control that allows me to choose low, medium and high speed for the fan. Above the large icons there is aa gear, a clock and a calendar.
Under the gear, I can check a box that lets the controller know I have dimmable light bulbs. The clock icon lets me set a sleep timer to automatically shut off the lights, the fan or both. I love no wasted electricity! When I click on the calendar icon, a screen opens that has a shield icon and a plus sign. Clicking the shield takes me to “Security”. In the security screen I can schedule days of the week for the lights to be randomly turned off and on, giving the illusion that someone is home and discouraging would-be burglars. Selecting the plus icon, takes me to a screen where I can actually schedule days and times for the fan to come on and the speed at which it should run and schedule the lights to come on, too. The settings need to be set when you are in your home near the bluetooth controller. Once you have saved them into the controller with this app, they will automatically run, no matter where you are. Wouldn’t it be nice to set the fan to come on 30 minutes before you arrive home from work and have the room cooled down and comfortable when you arrive? I can’t get over how many more options I have for using my ceiling fan and lights by simply installing the SIMPLEconnect receiver!
See why I’m so excited!?! I will definitely be adding SIMPLEconnect to ceiling fans in our new house, when the time comes. You don’t need to wait that long, though. You can definitely grab one for your home, HERE, plus by entering my giveaway with the Rafflecopter form, below, you just may win one for free!
