Chocolate is an Easter candy MUST at our house! Chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies, chocolate bars, chocolate….well…..everything! lol and chocolate is plentiful during Easter season. Most any store you enter will have at least a small display of chocolate sweets to stuff into bright-colored baskets filled with cellophane grass. Once in awhile something truly special is called for, though. I always have a great deal of fun filling “baskets” for our children and grandchildren. I use the term “basket”, loosely, as the containers vary from year to year and tend to be an item of practical use for the time after the treats are gone — mugs, bowls, water bottles, etc. They aren’t necessarily glamorous or as festive as commercial Easter baskets, but I find they are usually as welcome as the treats inside.
I have discovered that I can marry my desire for practicality with festive and decorative containers, by gifting specialty boxes of chocolate from See’s Candy. They are especially appealing when sending a gift to loved ones who live far away and won’t be able to share the holiday with us. The decorated and sturdy boxes that delicious See’s candies are packaged in are perfect for storing treasures, when the treats are gone and I love using them in decorative displays and centerpieces, no matter what season or holiday. See’s has always created beautiful holiday boxes for their confectioneries and Easter is no exception. If you are looking for wonderful Easter candy, packaged beautifully to share with friends and loved ones, this Easter, look no further than See’s. Use their sweets to create your own custom baskets at home or pick from their wide selection and have them shipped as a surprise for those you want to send a special rememberance.
What are your favorite ways to treat family and friends? Are you an Easter basket traditionalist? Or do you, like me, “think outside the basket”?
