Christmas stockings are so fun! They are a whimsical part of Christmas decorating and delight young and old with their fun surprises on Christmas morning. If you want to add to the anticipation and excitement, while turning your holiday decorating up a notch, you really have to visit Aunt Joy’s and browse the dozens of available stockings she will handmake for your family. Aunt Joy’s is one of our Blogmania Christmas at Home: A Celebration sponsors and I absolutely love their products!
The quality of these beautiful Christmas stockings is not like anything you have ever seen. Each stocking is handmade by Aunt Joy and the love and devotion that is poured into each one is so obvious when you see one up close! Every seam is precisely trimmed and impeccably finished to prevent fraying. The details include patchwork, applique, decorative stitching and more depending on the pattern you select. The classic-sized stockings measure a whopping twenty-three inches long and eight inches wide! They are roomy and spacious enough for your largest treats and stocking stuffers.
Every stocking is customized with your choice of fabrics, name and even the direction for the toe to point, so that you can make sure all your stockings point the same way. Depending on the stocking design you select, the fabric can be quilted cotton or natural burlap, each available in 6 different colors.
The classic-sized stocking I received in order to conduct this review is absolutely gorgeous! It says MOM, in green and white plaid, across the top of the stocking. The pattern I received is one of Aunt Joy’s classics, Tall Tree, design # 112. I selected the Burgundy (Pretty Plum) quilted cotton fabric for the stocking body. The heel and toe of the stocking are done in green and cream plaid and the “tall tree” is green with white dots and backed in felt, which gives it a fun, dimensional look. There is a red, white and green plaid star decorating the toe; and buttons in various sizes add the finishing details and touches. I am very impressed with the sewing quality on these handmade treasures and believe that they would last for years and years.
