I love Lenox! It’s always been a dream of mine to have beautiful dishes and serving pieces to create a wonderfully inviting tablescape. I have never had the chance to own my own set of gorgeous china — a set I picked out myself, that is a true expression of me. Needless to say, browsing the Lenox website fills my head with all sorts of dreamy table setting and decorating ideas. I love “window shopping” there because of the incredible variety of styles and colors. Plus, the name Lenox is synonymous with quality and beauty, in my mind. I know it’s a company I can trust.
You may remember that last fall, Lenox sponsored an over-the-top generous giveaway, at Busy-at-Home, of EIGHT 4-piece place settings of their beautiful new holiday china. I fell in love with the artistry and elegance of their products, as well as the great people I was able to work with in the process. It’s just an all around awesome company. That’s why I’m so tickled that they are helping me to celebrate my 50th birthday by sponsoring yet another outrageously fun giveaway! One Busy-at-Home reader is going to win FOUR 4-piece place settings of Floral Fusion – Kiwi!

Knowing exactly what to expect when the box arrived, I could hardly stand not ripping it open, but I was very calm and genteel about the whole thing. (Don’t listen to anything my family says. They exaggerate!
) Floral Fusion is crafted of white porcelain and is dishwasher and microwave safe, meaning its fabulous “style” is also easy to care for. The glaze is smooth and the colors are spectacular! Each place setting has four pieces — a dinner plate, salad plate, a bowl and a mug.

Every time I look at these pieces, I think of “The Secret Garden”. That’s what they remind me of – a special party nestled in a beautiful flower garden. The colors are vibrant and the artwork is contemporary and elegant, yet these dishes exude the most welcoming, homey feel when placed on your table. Do you have certain things in your home that just make you smile and feel happy inside? These dishes will be one of mine.

Guess what? These beautiful dishes are normally $72 per place setting, but right now, they are on sale at the Lenox website for only $49.95! That’s a 31% savings! Fantastic bargain! The name Lenox is one that I have long associated with fine china, beauty and quality. This review experience has only served to deepen that conviction.

I received one 4-piece place setting of Floral Fusion, in order to test it and conduct this review. No monetary compensation was received and as always, at Busy-at-Home, views and opinions expressed are wholly my own.
I love when I find simple and easy recipes, that add something new to an everyday meal and are equally as impressive on a table for guests. I like it even better when that recipe is inexpensive to make. If you plan your shopping wisely, this recipe hits the mark on all counts, plus it’s [...]
I love when I find simple and easy recipes, that add something new to an everyday meal and are equally as impressive on a table for guests. I like it even better when that recipe is inexpensive to make. If you plan your shopping wisely, this recipe hits the mark on all counts, plus it’s just plain pretty.
Do you all remember the recent $5 off 5 Kraft cheese coupons? We were allowed to print two and so I hung onto them until our local store had Kraft Cream Cheese on sale for 98¢ each. Then I purchased 10 blocks of cream cheese and the store PAID ME 20¢ to bring them home. FREE Cream Cheese cuts the cost in any recipe! Then when grapes were on sale for 87¢/ lb, it was a shoe-in that it was time to try this salad!
I’m sure you’ve all noticed by now, that I am still adjusting to taking pictures in the different lighting of our new home, but don’t let my poor photography skills fool you. This is a pretty sidedish, that you’ll be proud to serve, even to company. I love how my Noritake Round Baker/Pie Plate displays this yummy salad. Have you visited Noritake, yet? They sponsored an awesome giveaway of Colorwave Bakeware for our Homemade Holiday series and their dinnerware is just as lovely. Plus, now through this Friday they are having an amazing 30% OFF sale – SITE WIDE! Use coupon code Holiday30 and pick up your favorite pieces with a phenomenal discount!

Get yourself an eight- or nine-year-old that loves to help in the kitchen. Let them wash and de-stem all your grapes.

My favorite nine-year-old, washing and removing the stems from the grapes.
In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, sugar and vanilla. (Remember this beautiful Winter Song bowl from Lenox? I love it and it’s perfect for this winter season!) Mix until the dressing is smooth and creamy. Yum! This would also be a very good fruit dip with a tray full of fruit chunks, too.

Pretty Winter Song bowl from Lenox.

Sweet, creamy dressing ready to pour over the grapes.
Pour the dressing over the prepared grapes and stir to coat. Pour the salad into a serving dish. I used the Noritake Round Baker/Pie Plate from their Colorwave Collection. The Raspberry color just seemed like the perfect fit, this time of year.
Mix the brown sugar and pecans. You will use them to top the salad.

Salad in beautiful Raspberry Colorwave Round Baker from Noritake and ready to be topped.
Beautiful AND delicious! You can eat this right away, but the flavors and texture gets better the longer you leave it in the fridge. That extra time to sit, allows the dressing to moisten and start to dissolve the brown sugar in the topping and all the flavors to meld and complement one another. This recipe is so simple and quick to fix. It has great texture and taste, plus it looks pretty! You can’t go wrong with this dish on your Homemade Holiday menu!

Grape salad, finished off with pecans and brown sugar. That Raspberry Colorwave Round Baker from Noritake is going to be gorgeous in my holiday tablescape!

Served with a tasty corn casserole that will be posting soon! (More of my Winter Song china from Lenox. I love it!)

I’ve been working hard to get you all thinking about Christmas, encouraging you to plan ahead, be creative and be frugal. We’re going to be making tons of fabulous items you can use to decorate your homes and tables, as well as give as gifts. Frugal is going to look fantastic, this year! But, as a special treat, and to really inspire you and put you in the mood for thinking about the holiday season, I have been able to find some outstanding sponsors for Blogmania who will add to your Christmas festivities with some excellent prizes! I know you all have been waiting to hear about this one and so, today, we’re going to talk about Lenox and the unbelievably generous gift they will be sending to one Busy-at-Home reader! You can imagine my excitement when a shipping carton arrived, recently. I opened it, pulled out the generous packing and found this, inside.

That very sturdy and well-packaged box contained a wonderful gift! I have received one place setting of Lenox’s beautiful “Holiday” dinnerware to review. You are going to be seeing it popping up in many posts between now and Christmas, as I share delicious recipes and baked goods. “Holiday” is the classic Lenox Christmas pattern and is the perfect dinnerware for a traditional, formal holiday table. Encircled in lovely Christmas holly leaves and berries, and rimmed in gold, Lenox’s “Holiday” china pattern is definitely the divine “main attraction” on any holiday tablescape. There is something so smooth and elegant about china. I love the way it feels. This beautiful Lenox china is no exception. I lift it and I want to be all dressed up and serving a special meal. Lenox’s “Holiday” dinnerware is also not as heavy and cumbersome as an everyday stoneware or dinnerware. It just “feels” special. The great thing is that even though it has that air of unmistakable quality and a celebration feel, the Lenox “Holiday” dinnerware is strong and even dishwasher-safe. Plus, you won’t believe all the beautiful accessory and serving pieces available to match!

The “Holiday” pattern is made from Lenox ivory fine china and 24 carat gold. Lenox has been producing this lovely pattern in the United States since 1974. It can be purchased in configurations and amounts to fit every household and budget, from a three-piece setting that includes a dinner plate and cup and saucer; to the five-piece place setting, which includes everything I received for this review, a dinner plate, salad plate, butter plate, and a cup and saucer. But the great news is that for a limited time, if you order this beautiful five-piece place setting, you will also receive a sixth piece for free, the lovely soup/pasta bowl.

It’s so new and “hot off the presses” that I haven’t received the review copy, yet; but I will also be receiving Lenox’s fabulous NEW Christmas pattern, designed just for 2010. For those of you who love to set a beautiful Christmas table, but want something comfortable, family-oriented and less formal, “Winter Song” is going to be the pattern that welcomes your family and friends to the dinner table. It is absolutely gorgeous and I believe creates an extraordinary winter tablescape, whether it’s Christmastime, or not! Since, we are still waiting for the first shipments and mine hasn’t arrived, yet, Marianne, over at Lenox, graciously agreed to send me a few pictures, so you could have a sneak peek at the lovely “Winter Song” dinnerware.

I can just imagine this dinnerware on an elegant ivory, or pretty Christmas green, tablecloth. I can’t wait for our set to arrive and to show you even more pictures as I use it in my upcoming recipe preps and displays!
The best news of all is that because of Lenox‘s generosity, one lucky Busy-at-Home reader is going to own 8 place settings of the beautiful Winter Song china!!!! That’s a $688 value! Your entertaining and family dinners will be enhanced by this lovely, detailed dinnerware. It adds color and warmth to your table; and everyone who shares your meal will experience the welcoming, homey feel of the charming winter scenes it displays.
