It’s that time of year, again, and it promises to be just as hectic as all the years before it. :) Back-to-school signals so many things, cooler weather, more structured and scheduled days and more activity to squeeze into that structure. Finding the time to shop and prep for the kids moving back into their academic activities can leave us with our heads spinning, finding it hard to believe all that they will need to complete their assigned tasks. One name that I KNOW I can count on, without even having to think about it, for back-to-school is Crayola. A new box of 64 with a sharpener built into the back was the pinnacle of my school bag treasures, back in the day; and Crayola is still the name I trust when I shop for supplies that will help my kids and grandkids pursue their creative talents.
Polly-O/ Kraft String Cheese comes in several delicious varieties. I bought Mozzarella and Twists. You can see that my package of Twists had the $3 Crayola coupon inside!
I love that Kraft and Crayola know exactly what busy moms like us are feeling, thinking about and experiencing as fall and a new school year approaches; and I think it’s particularly cool that they have teamed up this summer to make it a little easier for us to fill up the book bags and satisfy the after-school munchies. From now through September 30th, specially marked packages of Polly-O/ Kraft String Cheese will contain $3.00 coupons off Crayola products. It’s a perfect time to stock up on your family’s favorite string cheese varieties. Regular Mozzarella, Mozzarella made with 2% milk, Twist, and Twist made with 2% milk are the varieties participating in the coupon campaign, but I’ve noticed a couple of new flavors of Kraft String Cheese, at our market, that I want to try, too. Those are Jalapeno and Tomato Basil. Yum! Any of the flavors would be a delicious part of an after school snack or a quick and easy treat in a lunchbox! Here’s another recipe that I dreamed up and works as a quick, cold snack for the kids; or broiled, becomes an elegant and delicious appetizer.
Delicious Caprese Bites made with Kraft Mozzarella String Cheese.

Ingredients
- 12-15 large cherry or flavorino tomatoes
- 3 Kraft Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
- 12-15 fresh basil leaves
- optional: few drops balsamic vinegar or salad dressing
- optional: 2 Tablespoons Italian Bread Crumbs
- optional: 1 teaspoon melted butter
Instructions
- Cut cheese sticks into 5 or 6 equal pieces.
- Wash tomatoes and slice the tip off the narrow end, leaving the wide, flat side to stand them on.
- Cut about 1/3 of the way down through the center of the tomato, turn it and cut 1/3 of the way down through the center, again, to create a cross.
- Wrap a basil leaf around a cheese chunk and push them into the center of the cross you cut in the top of a tomato.
- Repeat until each tomato has been stuffed.
- Chill and serve with your kids' favorite salad dressing, a drop of balsamic vinegar or just plain.
- Optional: I didn't get a good picture of these, but they were delicious. To serve hot, I mixed the bread crumbs and melted butter, then sprinkled some bread crumbs over the top of each tomato and heated under the broiler until the crumbs were golden brown and the cheese softened. The cheese chunks are too large to actually melt, but they began to get pretty soft on the top and heating melded the flavors, beautifully. Yum!

my fav product is the shredded cheese and my memory is being sick in the hospital as a child and my dad coming from work to stay with me and gave me a color book and crayola crayons!
We went to the Crayola Factory in PA. It was so much fun!

All these years later, I still LOVE Kraft Mac & Cheese! And for years…all the way thru college & into my 20s, my mom would give me a coloring book & Crayola crayons in my Christmas stocking! Now I do the same for my kids!

My favorite Kraft product is the cream cheese! My favorite memory was when I was 11 years old and my mom bought me a coloring book with different animals inside and I colored the pictures with my Crayola colored pencils.
I am a huge fan of all Kraft products because they are a company that willingly discloses any hidden gluten and clearly marks it on their packaging, which is a big help for those of us with Celiac Disease.

oh gosh, I love so many kraft products…we buy tons of Kraft cheese weekly for one. As for the crayons, sometimes it is fun to just sit and color with the kids. Heck, sometimes it is just fun to sit and grab a crayon and a book when you’re with nobody, can keep one busy.
Two out of three of my children love the Kraft string cheese. They take it to school for lunch every chance they get.
My kids love Kraft mac and cheese and their string cheese. We have so many Kraft products in our home, hard to narrow it down. I have always loved to color. As the only child growing up, that was something I did a lot to keep busy. Crayola has all these new color boxes out now…glitter, rainbow. I have wanted to buy them all. I limited myself to the glitter box for our daughter!
My favorite Kraft product is Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese, but I don’t think I have ever tried anything from Kraft that I didn’t like. Do you remember when Crayola had metal boxes with a box of crayons and an ornament in it? I collected all of those and I just loved them. Just this year I opened a box for the kids to use. My husband gave me the new box every year for Christmas. I loved those – wish they would bring them back.

I use so many Kraft products it is hard to pick a favorite; but I think it would be Kraft Sharp Cheddar either in blocks or shredded. I, too, loved getting that new big box of crayons each school year and thinking of the possibilities with all those colors to choose from.
I love the Kraft String Cheese. I always keep it in the refigerator for a quick snack. I always enjoyed coloring with my kids and now with my grandson.
My best Crayola memory was the day I got the ‘big box’ of crayons with the built in sharpener! I always had the small boxes, but when I got the big one….I don’t think I moved away from the kitchen table for 2 days. Coloring was always something I loved to do, and it was such a treat to get new crayons and coloring books….and it was a fun activity that my mom and I did together.

I love the Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Crayola is just one of those things that has always been around. I loved getting a new box of crayons and a coloring book and then trying to see if I could complete the whole book with beautiful pictures. I especially liked the twistable crayons for my kids (no more peeling that paper!).
I love any Kraft cheese. I always loved the big box of crayons with the sharpener on the back. I still like to color with crayons but my grandchildren prefer markers.

I love kraft singles. Really I love all of the kraft cheese. We use a lot of cheese in our house. I like to color with my grand daughter but she doesn’t color very often. She can’t sit still long enough. I don’t really have a crayon story. No memories that I can remember.

My biggest Crayola moment was when I moved up to the big 64 box after progressing through the chunky 8 box, the 24 box, and then the 48. So many great colors to choose from. I could never decide if my favorite was the sky blue or the midnight blue.
I loved to color all the time as a kid and still do sometimes when I’m watching little ones. I also like the new Kraft Fresh Takes.

I have 3 kids who use Crayola products. My oldest son likes the Crayola markers the best, my daughter prefers the timeless classic, Crayola crayons 24 pack & my youngest son, my very creative Autistic babydoll, can’t get enough of Crayola color pencils. He creates a masterpiece every day with his “colors”. Our family loves many Kraft products and one of our favorite meals is our Bacon Ranch Mac & Cheese, made with Kraft mac & cheese, bacon bits & Kraft ranch dressing.

Kraft makes a ton of products that I love, so it’s hard to pick just one..but their newest product I enjoy are the Fresh Takes. If you’ve never tried them I suggest it. They are delicious
Kraft macaroni and cheese is my favorite! I love crayons. We waited ten years to have Little Bit but my Mom always kept me supplied in crayons and coloring books. I never stopped coloring! I have so many crayons. I probably never need to buy any for Little Bit but I adore them and cant help but adding to my collection ;D
I’ve always loved Kraft Macaroni & Cheese!I can remember having crayons,but we had the small boxes.I have no grand kids,but I’ll color with my Nieces and Nephews.I think of the pictures,my Son would color when he was little and we would put them on the Fridge,he was so proud of them!
I’m a huge fan of the Kraft Philadelphia Cooking Creme. It helps make some fast weeknight dinners. Our favorite is the Savory Garlic.
Oops, I forgot about my Crayola memory. Last week I squeezed some different color Crayola finger paints in a large ziploc bag and used masking tape to stick in to the table for my 1 year old to paint mess free. She had a blast! My 3 year old even had fun with it.
I love the new Kraft Fresh Takes! So easy and so good! And I remember once that I read that you can make candles out of old crayons. You just melt them down, add scent, then pour them in a container with a wick. Easy right? Oh absolutely! Except I found out that no matter how much scent you use, when it burns, it still just smells like melting crayons! It was a fun project anyway!

I LOVE cheese. One of my favorite memories of school is that I carried my school box, complete with Crayola crayons, out of the building during a fire drill when I was in kindergarten.
